On May 10th we started looking at light clearance around the area of the Circle, the former focus of the whole of the estate. It lies at the end of Shirehampton Road car park and is still the junction of many of the key paths around the park.
We cleared brambles and undergrowth around the perimeter, but a key element in what we wanted to do was to restore long views between the Circle and Kings Weston House. Whilst many of the trees are too large for us to cut down we lifter the canopy and removed a lot of self-seeded saplings and small trees that were obscuring the view. At last you can see right thorough to the parkland beyond!.
