Kingsweston Hill and walled gardens

Kingsweston Hill is a large area of common land that connects Kings Weston with the Blaise Castle Estate. Most of the area was historically part of the Kings Weston estate and was famous for its views looking across the Severn to Wales. An inn was built on its lower slopes to offer refreshments the many visitors to the estate. A large area behind Kings Weston house was laid out with stables and walled gardens in the 1760s and these estate buildings are an important survival. Take time to visit the beautiful formal lily pond and look out for herons!
